Join us for a 2 hour, double-blockbuster CLE seminar on electronic discovery law and practice. Our highly experienced speakers will leave you with a clear understanding of:

  • The ethical duties and issues that confront attorneys during the practice of e-discovery  
  • Four cost-cutting strategies that e-discovery managers can apply to individual cases or across a portfolio of matters

This seminar is designed to provide the attendees with practical knowledge through analysis of specific examples from topical case law and discussion of lessons-learned in the field.  The speakers are highly experienced e-discovery experts and presenters.  Each brings over 25 years of relevant experience to the subject.

Anne Jordan - Managing Director, Esicon Consulting
 

 

Anne is a litigator, consultant and former general counsel (PeopleSoft, Sega USA), who advises clients on eDiscovery, litigation management and cost reduction strategies. She also acts as a mediator and arbitrator through the International Center for Conflict Prevention and Resolution and AAA. Because of her background with information technology businesses, she has years of experience working on complex electronic document productions. Prior to founding Esicon, she was President of a national e-discovery review firm. Ms. Jordan is a frequent lecturer on e-discovery, corporate, intellectual property, and ethics topics. She is also a published author.

 

 

Melissa Smart - Litigation Group Manager, ARDC

 

Melissa Smart is litigation group manager and senior counsel at the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC), where she oversees a staff of litigation attorneys, investigates charges of lawyer misconduct and prosecutes disciplinary cases. She is well-versed on the ethical dilemmas that rapidly evolving technology present to legal practitioners.  Melissa obtained her B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She received her law degree from The John Marshall School of Law, graduating cum laude.  She is active in the CBA and is a current member of the ISBA, where she serves as liaison to the ISBA Standing Committee on the ARDC.  She has lectured and presented workshops regarding professional responsibility and disciplinary law to various bar association groups, government agencies, law firms, private organizations and law schools.  She has appeared as a guest on numerous radio programs.  She has been selected to work on pilot programs for the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, which have developed model courses on professional responsibility and CLE course facilitation.  She was named as a Member of the Joint Illinois State Bar Association/Chicago Bar Association Special Committee on Ethics 2000 which reviewed existing Illinois ethics guidelines and suggested changes to the Illinois Supreme Court which formed the basis for the New 2010 Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct.   

 

 

Dan Rizzolo - Managing Director, Esicon Consulting

  

Dan is an attorney and consultant who advises corporate clients and serves as an expert on eDiscovery, IT and data matters in litigation. He has over 29 years of experience, including practice leadership positions at Esicon Consulting, Arthur Andersen, Bowne & Company, and Navigant Consulting. He has helped client through some of the largest and most complex legal data exercises in the world, including tobacco litigation, the Enron and Madoff matters, and several high profile criminal actions. He speaks regularly and publishes on e-discovery topics, and is an adjunct professor of electronic discovery at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.  

 

  

Steve Rosenfeld - Managing Partner, Mandell Menkes

  

Steve is the Managing Partner of Mandell Menkes. He has extensive experience in a broad range of complex commercial litigation, concentrating in matters involving complex information technology and intellectual property disputes. Steve has represented a wide variety of corporate clients, including high-technology corporations, bio-medical corporations, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, and insurance companies.
